GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has announced a grant of nearly $3 million to help the city of Gadsden move forward with plans to build a multi-use urban greenway.
According to the city of Gadsden, the grant is from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and will be used to construct the Downtown Gadsden Greenway.
The greenway will be located along a former railroad bed and will ultimately connect to the Black Creek Trail System, providing access to sports parks, community centers, waterways and more.
