ST. HELENA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A teen has been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to a deadly school shooting in St. Helena Parish, according to a report from The Advocate newspaper.
The teen, Christopher Williams, was 14 years old at the time of the shooting at St. Helena College and Career Academy and was tried as an adult, the report stated. He was charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, and illegal carrying of a firearm.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of the school in September of 2023 and claimed the life of Vernon Gordon Jr., 16. Two others were injured.
