LOGAN — Emergency crews were called to an off-road accident east of Cache Valley, Monday afternoon. The crash was reported around 2:30, along the Monte Cristo Road, SR-39.

According to emergency radio communications at the time of the incident, a 55-year-old man was riding a dirt bike, when he crashed near the border between Cache and Weber counties. The rider reported a bloody nose and abrasions on his body.

Cache County Search and Rescue crews responded to the scene. A medical helicopter was also requested, due to the remote location.

When search crews arrived, they stabilized the rider. Paramedics with the medical helicopter transported the rider to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.

The man was not identified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
