PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The search has been called off for the fourth missing fisherman who went missing off the coast of Newport on Sunday.

As previously reported by KOIN 6 News, the missing crewmember was working onboard the 40-foot Das Bug fishing vessel when it capsized around 4 p.m. Aug. 10 near the Yaquina Bay Jetty.

"Suspending a search without finding the person you have been looking for is always one of the most difficult decisions we have to make," said Lt. Cmdr. Jacqueline Hunnicutt, search and rescue mission coordinator for the Coast Guard Sector Columbia River.

"Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," Hunnicutt said.

The other three crewmembers were rescued Sunday and treated for hypothermia at Samaritan Pacific Communities H
