CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Drew Wagner, one of the men convicted in the 2018 murder of Chris Bagley, returned to the witness stand in the trial of Andrew Shaw. Shaw is accused of hiring Wagner and Drew Blahnik (who legally changed his name to Johnny Church) to kill Bagley, Blahnik has also been convicted in the murder.

Bagley was held down by Wagner while Blahnik stabbed him to death. Bagley was missing for more than two months before his body was found buried in Wagner’s yard.

The prosecution is arguing that Shaw wanted Bagley dead after Bagley began attacking and stealing from him. In a transcript from a 2020 interview with investigators, Wagner said he overheard Shaw offer Blahnik $10,000 to kill Bagley.
