WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - In the wake of Friday’s shooting outside Towne East Mall, Mayor Lily Wu is urging families to check in on one another.
The Wichita Police Department says that just after 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the area outside Scheel’s for a shooting. They found two teenage boys with gunshot wounds and another teen being held at gunpoint by an off-duty officer.
The primary suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder. Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
