Alien: Earth premieres this week, and you'll want to watch the FX prequel as soon as it's available. Alien: Earth is set before the original Alien movie , expanding the lore of the nearly five-decade-old franchise with exciting new ideas. Despite all these years, this will be the first time the franchise has been on television.

The new series is created by Noah Hawley, a fantastic TV writer known for his shows Fargo and Legion , the latter being a highly underrated X-Men spinoff show. Alien: Earth's cast includes industry veterans like Timothy Olyphant, as well as young stars like Sydney Chandler and Alex Lawther.
