One man was accused by San Diego police of groping women and exposing himself. Four others were accused by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department of drugging and raping three teenage girls in San Marcos.
After all five of them were released from jail with no charges filed, some San Diegans were left wondering why.
“Its just part of the health of the criminal justice system,” said San Diego criminal defense attorney Jan Ronis.
Ronis, who is not associated with either of the aforementioned cases, said says it’s not unusual for the county district attorney’s office to take its time investigating alleged crimes that may not be clear-cut.
