Former United States Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund is accusing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) of rewriting history after she criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to activate the D.C. National Guard this week.

Pelosi wrote on X Monday that Trump “delayed deploying the National Guard on January 6th when our Capitol was under violent attack and lives were at stake,” claiming his new Guard order was an attempt to distract from his “incompetent mishandling” of tariffs, healthcare, education, and immigration.
