GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — It’s that time of the year where everyone is planning that last summer project.

If it involves putting a shovel into the ground, you’re going to want to do your homework first.

The state advises that, before you break that shovel out, call Miss Dig at least three days in advance.

That’s because not everyone knows where a water, electric ore gas line is.

If you hit a line, it could prove to be very costly or even deadly.
