TEMPERANCE — Optimism and energy pulsated among the Bedford Mules football team Monday despite oppressive and stifling conditions on the artificial turf at the high school stadium.
While the first day of practice in Ohio was on Aug. 1, the high school football season in Michigan starts a week later. The Michigan High School Athletic Association allowed its teams to begin practicing in pads Monday.
The Mules hustled around the radiating turf at Bedford Community Stadium with good pace despite temperatures in the 90s and high humidity.
