A 34-year-old convicted felon was charged Monday with attempting to kill an Orange County sheriff’s deputy in Lake Forest.
Ethan Chase Mull was involved in a domestic violence incident Wednesday before he encountered deputies leading to his being shot by a deputy Thursday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched about 3 p.m. Thursday to a store near Trabuco and El Toro roads, deputies said. When Mull left the store deputies attempted to detain him, and after he pointed a gun at deputies he was shot, deputies said.
Mull was also bitten by a police dog and taken to a hospital to be treated for his wounds, deputies said.
