Notre Dame QB competition: CJ Carr, Kenny Minchey are 'neck-and-neck'

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish have a lot of unanswered questions leading up to their series-opening matchup against Miami on Aug. 31.

After last year's quarterback, Riley Leonard, had to take the next steps in his football career and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, Notre Dame is still looking for their next starting quarterback for the upcoming season.

With the kickoff to the Notre Dame football season less than three weeks away, the competition has come down to two names: redshirt freshman CJ Carr and redshirt sophomore Kenny Minchey.
