KIRBYVILLE, Mo. (KY3) -Perhaps you’ve seen the social media ads about The Lights Festival (or The Lights Fest). It’s touted as what happens when you combine thousands of friends and family with live music, dancing, and sky lanterns.

Upcoming events are apparently scheduled in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Atlanta. But before those, at a farm in Kirbyville, Mo., on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The owner of Priest Farms, Dan Priest, emailed Ashley Reynolds, saying it’s not happening.

The early bird offer is up, with tickets now being $42.

“There’s going to be people that are pissed,” said Dan Priest. “And I don’t blame them.”

He says earlier this summer, he got an email with a proposed contract to use his land. He emailed back a counteroffer.
