A fire investigator attended and determined the fire originated on the exterior of the home and was likely caused by unattended outdoor cooking

Calgary fire crews worked quickly on Monday to knock down a duplex fire in Falconridge — a blaze investigators determined was likely caused by unattended cooking.

The blaze was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m., when crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 100 block of Falworth Way N.E.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire billowing from a two-storey duplex.

“Crews quickly knocked back fire before it spread to a neighbouring home and then rapidly knocked down the fire on the back exterior of the home,” the Calgary Fire Department stated in a news release.
