ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of brutally beating another man inside a fast-food restaurant took a plea deal and could face at most two years behind bars. Albuquerque police believe Heath Miller attacked a man inside the McDonald's at Central Ave. and Yale Blvd. in early June of last year.
Video showed the two men talking before Miller hit the victim and then repeatedly struck the victim on the ground. The victim suffered severe injuries from the attack and was in a coma as a result.
On Friday, Miller pleaded no contest to aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm. His sentencing is scheduled for October 15.
