ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The former Hope Christian School teacher accused of inappropriately touching two students is trying to reverse a court's decision to keep him in jail until trial. Kelly McEachren was a teacher and volleyball coach at Hope Christian School.
He's accused of inappropriately touching a student last school year and another student in the 2016-2017 school year. Last month, a judge granted the state's motion to keep McEachren in jail until trial. His attorney is now appealing that ruling, arguing the state didn't meet its burden that there are no conditions of release that could keep the community safe. The defense attorney also argues that the state didn't present any witnesses or new evidence, while they had five witnesses and more than 60 letters testifying about Mc
