John Waite might not be recognized as much as he was in the ‘80s after the release of the hit song "When I See You Smile," but he still has plenty of fans. Waite got a surprise when he was pulled over by a cop in Kiowa County, Kansas, in July.

"It's not every day our Deputies get to pull over cool guys!! Sergeant Justin Rugg pulled over a vehicle who happened to have John Waite and his band in there headed to Dodge City tonight to play a show!" a post from the Kiowa County Sheriff's Department on July 25 read on Facebook . "Yes, Sergeant Rugg was excited!! In his own words, ‘I'm not even on cloud 9, I'm on, like, cloud 12!' John Waite, thanks for the photo. Have a rockin' time and check out that beautiful Kansas sky!"
