DENVER (KDVR) — A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection with a crash that left one motorcycle rider dead and a second with life-threatening injuries on Sunday night, which began with a confrontation near the Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Diego Ortega-Camero, 45, was arrested by Denver police and is being investigated on charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX31, witnesses told police that motorcyclists were at the Cherry Creek Reservoir, where they were weaving through traffic, speeding, playing loud music and allegedly causing disturbances.

That's when one confrontation escalated, with a rider pulling out a gun and firing a shot at a Honda Civic. But that wasn't the end of the motorcycle's interaction with the Civic.
