PLANO, Texas — Plano police say a wave of vehicle thefts hit the Dallas–Fort Worth area in March and April, ending with five suspects in custody.

Investigators said this crew was specifically targeting Chevy vehicles. That’s a change from the last group police caught, which went after high-end luxury cars.

Plano police have not said whether all 29 stolen vehicles have been recovered.

The suspects arrested in connection with the thefts are 23-year-old Deandre Smith, Xavion Jones, 21; Roxana Ramirez, 26; Anyia Stanfield, 22; and 25-year-old Timothy Beechum.

Jail records show Ramirez and Beechum are no longer in custody at the Collin County Jail. Authorities have not released details about the suspects’ charges or the circumstances of their arrests.
