WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Police are investigating a Monday evening shooting near Wesley Medical Center that left a woman dead.

Around 7:15 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of North Hillside for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a woman on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was rushed to the Wesley emergency room for surgery, but succumbed to her injuries.
