Vice President JD Vance threw his support behind a far-right news website that has spread fake news during an interview with its founder.

During an interview published Sunday, Jim Hoft, the editor of The Gateway Pundit, told Vance that he “heard some news” about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) , who ran as his counterpart under former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, within the “last 24 hours.” Vance silently laughed at his remarks.

“The FBI and DHS was covering for him and his ties to Communist China,” Hoft said, before asking, “Do you think they would have done this for you?”

Vance responded with a chuckle: “No, they would certainly not have.”
