SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Food Bank of Northern Indiana and the St. Joseph County Health Department Mobile Unit were in South Bend Monday providing vaccines for those going back to school.

Students from K-12 came to get their immunizations before the start of the new school year.

The SJC Health Department urges students and families to get their updated vaccines.

The mobile unit was also giving out information and flyers on why it is important to get their kids their updated shots.

Abby Maxwell, an immunization nurse for the St. Joseph County Health Department, said, "It's incredibly important. We want to give that wide coverage so that we have good protection as a community,
