CINCINNATI (WXIX) -Loved ones gathered in Spring Grove Village for an annual prayer vigil and balloon release to keep the memory of a 29-year-old who was shot and killed in 2019 alive.
Marilyn Turner’s son, Benoit Essex, died in August 2019 . His family says Essex was ambushed because he was shot where he normally parked in front of his mother’s Spring Grove Village home.
Turner, who still lives in the same home on Orient Avenue, says she is looking to move because it has become too difficult for her.
“So, it’s like a nightmare every time I come out of my door. I relive it, I relive it,” Turner explained.
