After leaving New Orleans' preseason game on just the second offensive play with a foot injury, the Saints fear center Will Clapp will need surgery and be out for the season, according to reports.

The Saints are reportedly awaiting final conformation from the injury results.

Clapp started against the Chargers in place of regular starter Erik McCoy on Sunday. Undrafted rookie Torriccelli Simpkins replaced him at center after the injury.

Clapp was one of two offensive linemen to leave the Saints preseason game early with an injury. Trevor Penning headed to the locker room in the second quarter in Los Angeles.
