WILLARD, Mo. (KY3) - One local police department is launching a new program to increase safety on the streets.
Willard police officers will focus patrol time and be visible in neighborhoods across town to encourage safer driving and respond to community concerns using the department’s new neighborhood emphasis on safe traffic or N.E.S.T. program.
“I feel completely comfortable. I’ve never had any problems. I take her out picking flowers, looking for bugs, and butterflies,” said Ryan Morris.
He says despite feeling secure in his Willard neighborhood he takes precautions when his daughter ventures outdoors.
“We’ve got our ring doorbell at our apartment just in case anybody tries to steal packages or anything. Other than that we look out for the neighbors,” he said.
