BELTON, Texas — Students came together to help other students during the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's (UMHB) Welcome Week on Aug. 9, as UMHB students packed meals and wrote notes of encouragement for students at Belton ISD.
UMHB said the event was part of Love CTX, an annual event designed for students to "discover service opportunities and grow closer to their Cru Groups by serving the community."
This marked the sixth year that the Love CTX event supported One More Child, which provides "Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families," UMHB said.
Nearly 450 students helped to pack 28,000 meals, and wrote notes for Belton ISD students at the event, the university said. The food was all reportedly donated by the Belton H-E-B, totaling over $16,000 worth of
