DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A semi driver was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Dubuque County.

At approximately 6:11 p.m. Monday, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle accident with injuries southbound on Highway 61.

Police say the accident occurred north of Buncombe Road on Highway 61.

After further investigation, a semi driver pulled over to secure his load when another southbound vehicle struck the back of the semi-trailer including the semi driver.

The semi driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital.

The individuals have not been identified. No other information is known at this time.
