BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The City of Birmingham will vote soon on whether to extend the public transportation contracts with two transit companies.

Before they do so, some passengers are sharing their concerns about the lack of timeliness and reliability for city buses and vans.

This comes after the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee met Monday afternoon , August 11, and recommended approving the contract extensions with BJCTA and ClasTran.

It all comes down to a lack of reliability and late pickups. One man who uses a wheelchair and depends on MAX Transit says he sometimes has to wait for long periods of time.
