PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man was found shot to death inside a North Portland motel Monday evening and the shooter remains at large.

Around 7:50 p.m., Portland police said in a release, officers were sent on a welfare check to a motel near 5200 North Interstate Avenue and found the man already dead.

Homicide detectives came to the scene but the investigation is in its early stages.
