A busy A-road just outside Gloucester has been closed in both directions after a car crashed into a power line during the night, according to reports.

Traffic monitoring site , Inrix, reported at around 2am on Tuesday (August 12): "A4173 in both directions closed due to emergency repairs and accident from Grange Road (Whaddon) to the Harescombe turn-off (Fagin's roundabout). After a car knocked over a power line during the night."

The road affected runs over the M5 motorway near Gloucester Services. It is not known at this time whether the driver was injured in the collision.
