Carlos Roman allegedly was intoxicated when he got behind the wheel of his 2012 Chevrolet Malibu last Dec. 7 and killed a Tempe High School math teacher in a head-on wrong-way collision on the Red Mountain Loop 202 Freeway.
Eight months later, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said it is still reviewing the case submitted by Arizona Department of Public Safety against Roman, 24, of San Tan Valley. DPS recommended charges, including second-degree murder with extreme indifference to human life, aggravated assault leading to serious physical injury and hit-and-run.
