Live A1 traffic updates as road remains closed several hours after crash near Grantham

following a collision between Grantham and Newark. The road was initially closed between the B1174 and B6326 following an accident on Monday, August 11,

attended the scene, and the vehicle has since been recovered. However the road remains closed northbound so that specialist clean up crews can clear the carriageway of agricultural material, including hay and offal.

A diversion route is in place along the A52 and A46. The southbound side of the road has reopened but the northbound side remains closed.

An update from National Highways East Midlands confirmed at 7.55am that the A1 remains closed northbound between the B1174 near Grantham and the B636 near Newark. This is due to the clean up works taking place following a collision last night.
