CHAPEL HILL — UNC football special teams have been a particular area of concern in recent seasons.

The Tar Heels have experienced some success in that all-important phase, but they also endured some not-so-special moments that contributed to a losing season in 2024.

Known for embracing special teams and the “bonus” plays they can provide during the course of a game, Bill Belichick will be tasked with turning around a unit that struggled to consistently give UNC an advantage last season.
