City of Newton
The city of Newton plans to build a new fire station.
Winstead Architecture PLLC will design a new fire station at the intersection of N.C. Highway 10 and Startown Road. The new facility, known as Station 3, will expand the Newton Fire Department’s capacity to serve the Startown community and western portions of the city, as well as the surrounding rural area.
In addition to the 13,500-square-foot fire station, the site will also serve as the future location of a new city park.
Station 3 will supplement Newton’s existing fire stations, including the Newton Fire Department Headquarters completed in 2015 on South Brady Avenue and Station 2 — also known as the Northside Station — on West 21st Street.
