A man sexually abused a 14-year-old boy who he met online. Ricky Ward saw the boy on seven occasions over several months, and on some occasions would sneak into the teenager's house while his parents were asleep and have sex with him.

Ward did the same thing when the boy was staying with his grandparents at their home. The 37-year-old, of St Martin's Drive, Desford, appeared at Leicester Crown Court on Friday (August 8) for sentencing, having been found guilty by a jury of 16 counts of sexual activity with a child.

During the hearing, prosecutor Matthew Rowcliffe read out a victim statement from the boy, who described the way he had been affected by the abuse. He said: "Before this I wouldn't describe myself as an angry person, and now I feel angry all the time and lash out at family
