PEORIA, Ill. – A man surrendered after a standoff with Peoria Police near N. Woodbine Terrace and W. Forrest Hill Avenue Monday afternoon.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says around 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the area on a report of trouble with a man armed with a knife. They were informed that the man had barricaded himself inside a home with the knife and lighter fluid.
The man was making suicidal statements. Police negotiators eventually were able to talk the man out of the house. He was taken to a hospital without incident.
No one was injured. Police have not released any information about criminal charges.
