The city is approximately 15 miles north of Peoria, located along the Illinois River and Route 29. Its historical past is rich in railroads and the river.

If visitors want to take in the majestic view of the river and spot eagles, check out Eagle Landing. There are two telescopes for the public to use; One at the top of the observation tower and another near the tower’s base, which is wheelchair accessible.

Eagle Landing is the place to be to catch a sunrise, sunset, or when leaves change colors in the fall.
