A dog was rescued from a boiling hot car by police who smashed a window to save it. Officers said the dog was left with no water while only a tiny part of the window had been left open.
The incident happened yesterday (Monday, August 11) as temperatures hit 28C across the county. The dog, a two-year-old collie named Lola, was found by officers inside a car in Beaumont Leys shopping centre with no water and only a small part of the car window left open.
Officers revealed that they smashed the vehicle's rear window in order to rescue Lola and get her fresh air. She was subsequently taken to the shopping centre's Pets at Home store where she was given the all clear.
