Full weekend closure of Clifton Suspension Bridge announced
A weekend closure has been announced for Clifton suspension bridge next month. The September shutdown of the route is for vital refurbishment works.
Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust contractors are carrying out preparation and painting work to the land chains at road level and further scaffolding works. The bridge will be closed to all road users including cyclists from 7pm on Friday, September 5 to 7am on Monday, September 8.
Throughout the weekend, a diversion route will be signed using Bridge Valley Road, Brunel Way and A369 Rownham Hill. Traffic following the official signed diversion routes from the bridge during these times will be exempt from Bristol City Council ’s Clean Air Zone. To find out more visit www.bristol.
