One man has been arrested after a dead body was found in an apartment in west Abbotsford following reports of a shooting on Monday (Aug. 11) afternoon.

Abbotsford Police Department officers responded to the shots fired call at around 4 p.m. and quickly determined that the incident was isolated to a third floor unit of an apartment at 30490 Cardinal Ave.

They found a deceased man inside the unit and also located another man at the scene. That man was arrested and remains in police custody. The APD stated that there is no ongoing risk to the public following this incident.

The investigation is still in its early stages and additional resources have been deployed to uncover the full circumstances of the incident. The APD's Major Crime Unit is transitioning the investigation to the Integrat
