The Detroit Tigers have a loaded farm system of prospects who are pushing for the big leagues.
Top shortstop prospect Kevin McGonigle may be ready for the big leagues by opening day next season and this could create a bit of a roster crunch for a few struggling infielders in Detroit.
Colin Keane of Motor City Bengals recently predicted the Tigers would cut ties with struggling top prospect Jace Jung in the offseason.
"Detroit selected Jung with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. His MLB sample size isn't large (124 at-bats), but his production in limited opportunities hasn't warranted more of them," Keane wrote. "Jung has a career .554 OPS and is 5-for-45 at the plate so far in 2025 for the Tigers. He's been attempting to revamp his swing in the minors this summer.
