A number of objections have been raised over a third bid to create a new children’s home in a residential Leicestershire street. Five objections have been lodged against the latest plans for the property in Eastway Road, Wigston.

Applicant Mayur Bhatt has put forward the application to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council (OWBC) for up to four children aged eight-16 years old receiving care. Two previous applications have been lodged for the same premises in the past year.

The first was for three children aged seven to 18 and was lodged at the beginning of 2024. The second application for a residential children's home for children with learning disabilities was raised in April last year and was billed as hosting long-term care for four children aged seven to 18.
