Weather maps have revealed that 18 counties in England are set to escape the wrath of a heatwave that's arrived this week.

Forecasts reveal that 234 local areas in the United Kingdom are set to meet the official heatwave threshold this week set out by the Met Office.

The heatwave arrived yesterday on Monday, August 11, and is set to continue sweltering counties in England through to Thursday.
