A man has been arrested after a police officer was allegedly assaulted at a home in Foleshill on Monday evening (11 August). The suspect, who is in his 20s, remains in custody.

According to social media posts, there was a heavy police presence on Eld Road, with images showing at least three police vehicles in attendance. Despite the activity, it is believed no one was hurt - West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed they did not attend the incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers attended an address in Eld Road, Coventry yesterday evening.

"A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault, possession of cannabis and assaulting a police officer. He remains in custody while our enquiries continue."
