Brutus faced his first heartbreak when his owner abandoned him and moved to Tennessee.

He was taken to the Humane Society of Central Illinois , a shelter located in Normal, Illinois.

Brutus kept hoping his owner would come back for him, but as time passed, he had to accept that they were not returning.

The shelter team gave him affection and tried to ease his sadness and worry.

Although Brutus enjoyed their company, he longed for a home of his own.

He dreamed of a family that would love him without ever giving up.

Overlooked And Sad

Day after day, Brutus stayed in his kennel hoping someone would notice him and take him home.

Sadly, he realized over time that people kept walking past without stopping, which made him feel sad.
