Developers looking to build 4,000 new homes in Leicestershire's next "garden village" want to hear from the public. Community groups, charities and voluntary organisations are being urged to have their say in shaping the major development which would see new schools and shops created too.

Known as Whetstone Pastures , the plan is to create more than 4,000 homes over a 930-acre site straddling the M1 between Countesthorpe, Cosby and Broughton Astley. The development is still in the planning stages but the aim is to create a new "garden village" with schools, shops, workplaces and even a new M1 junction .
