JUDAH— A fatal crash in Judah on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Bloomington man after a car collided with his bicycle at the intersection of State Road 37 and Old 37.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Greg Day, central dispatch received a 911 call around 1 p.m. reporting a collision involving a passenger car and a bicyclist. Deputies and other first responders were immediately dispatched to the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the sheriff’s office revealed that 26-year-old Jimmy Arthur of Mitchell was driving a black 2012 Chrysler 200 southbound on State Road 37. At the same time, 70-year-old Mark Dayton of Bloomington was riding his bicycle westbound on Old 37.
