ROGERS -- Construction is expected to begin Wednesday on the final phase of the Poplar Street Parkway, according to a news release from the city.
The new parkway is part of the city's expansion of its active transportation network geared toward pedestrians, cyclists and others looking for nonmotorized forms of transportation. It will include features that calm traffic, improve visibility at intersections and provide a protected crossing at South Dixieland Road and West Cypress Street, according to the release.
Work during the final phase of the project will take place between 15th and 21st streets and is expected to conclude by mid-2026, the release states.
The work is being funded in part by a grant from the Walton Family Foundation, according to the release.
