A prison watchdog has found that a Leicestershire prison "inappropriately restrained" a dying paedophile during hospital visits despite him being weeks from death. David Evans was serving a sentence for child sexual abuse as part of the West Midlands' largest child abuse investigation involving "systematic" and "cruel" abuse of children.
Evans was one of 21 offenders convicted as part of Operation Satchel, which became the largest child sexual abuse investigation in the West Midlands. He was sentenced to three years and six months in February 2023 for child sexual abuse offences as part of the investigation that uncovered abuse of seven children in Wolverhampton and Walsall.
